Maggie, Nick's wife, is unwell and confined to bed, so Nick is providing her with loving care. Millions of people in the UK suffer from a condition known as "workshy sponger-itis," in which people live off government assistance and spend their days ordering takeaway or watching Netflix. But Maggie's circumstances are far worse, so Nick has to take care of everything as a single parent. He finds a potential remedy for his excessive responsibilities—a home SIM, an android intended to assist with household chores—while out shopping with his daughter Isla.
